No. The edge is dulled so it catches loose hair, not skin. Keep strokes light and never press into the coat.
Once or twice a week during shedding season, and every couple of weeks the rest of the year. Ten minutes per session is enough.
It lifts fur that is already loose. Healthy topcoat stays put, which is why you should stop once very little comes away.
Wipe the blade with a damp cloth and dry it. The head is splash-safe; don't leave it soaking.
